City of Brandon Welcomes AVAIO Digital’s $6 Billion Investment in New AI-Ready Data Center Campus

AVAIO Digital Taurus project to bring innovation, economic growth, and sustainable infrastructure to Brandon

BRANDON, Miss. (August 22, 2025) — The City of Brandon announced today that AVAIO Digital Partners (AVAIO Digital) has selected Brandon as the future home of its next major data center development. The company outlined plans to build a cutting-edge, AI-ready data center campus on 175 acres in Rankin County. The $6 billion investment is one of the largest of its kind in the state and is expected to bring high-quality job opportunities, economic growth and long-term infrastructure investment to the Brandon area.

“The City of Brandon is proud to be the site of this transformative development,” said City of Brandon Mayor Butch Lee. “This $6 billion investment by AVAIO Digital marks a monumental day for the City of Brandon. From the beginning, the City has worked closely with AVAIO Digital to help bring this project to life, and today’s announcement represents a major step forward. This development will bring high-quality jobs, attract and retain top talent, and position Brandon at the forefront of a growing, innovation-driven industry. We are honored to partner with AVAIO Digital as they invest in our city’s future.”

The AVAIO Digital Taurus campus will be able to support cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies, backed by a strong power partnership with Entergy Mississippi and built with a focus on sustainability. With access to multiple long-haul fiber routes and proximity to data center hubs such as Dallas and Atlanta, the site will offer prime interconnection capabilities for future tech growth.

The campus will be designed with sustainability in mind, including water-efficient cooling, rooftop solar, rainwater recapture, and eco-friendly architecture. It is expected to be an attractive, well-buffered addition to the Brandon landscape, bringing smart infrastructure and environmental stewardship together in one of the South’s fastest-growing tech corridors.

Mark McComiskey, CEO of AVAIO Digital, stated, “The Greater Jackson area is poised to become a new hub for cloud computing and AI development, and we are delighted to partner with the City of Brandon to make a significant investment in expanding the region’s digital and energy infrastructure. Mississippi provides a unique opportunity for hyperscalers to rapidly expand their digital presence in close proximity to established data center markets in a highly sustainable way.”

The AVAIO Digital Taurus campus will be part of AVAIO’s growing U.S. and European data center portfolio, with more than 1.2 gigawatts of secured power and a focus on innovation, efficiency, and scale. Nearly 450 megawatts of capacity are expected to be online by 2027.

The City of Brandon will continue to work closely with AVAIO Digital and other partners throughout the development process. Additional updates regarding project milestones, construction progress, and community impact will be shared with the public as they become available.

“This project would not be possible without the dedication and collaboration of so many,” said Mayor Butch Lee. “I want to thank our hardworking city employees, Governor Tate Reeves, AVAIO Digital, the Rankin County Board of Supervisors, and Rankin First for their commitment to bringing this transformative project to Brandon.” For more information about AVAIO Digital Partners, click here.
