Our Divisions
The City of Brandon Public Works Department consists of five main divisions: water, sewer, streets & drainage, sanitation, and utility billing. Together these divisions provide many of the basic services that are required for those that live and work in the City of Brandon.

After Hours & Emergencies
For all after hours and Emergency Public Works issues, please call the main Public Works phone number at 601-824-4579. An on-call Public Works employee is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Alex Wade
Public Works Director
Alex Wade serves as the Public Works Director for the City of Brandon, where he oversees the City’s water and wastewater utilities, streets and drainage, facilities, and public infrastructure operations. He is responsible for planning, maintaining, and improving the essential services that support Brandon’s residents, businesses, and continued growth.
Alex brings experience in municipal public works, civil construction, utility management, engineering, GIS, and project management from both the public and private sectors. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University and is committed to using technology, data driven decision making, and sound engineering principles to improve service delivery and infrastructure stewardship.
In addition to his role with the City, Alex serves as a Chief Warrant Officer Two in the Mississippi Army National Guard, specializing in construction and facilities engineering. His combined civilian and military experience provides a practical, mission focused approach to leadership, strategic planning, and public service.
Alex is dedicated to building resilient infrastructure, fostering strong community partnerships, and ensuring Brandon remains a safe, well maintained, and thriving place to live, work, and do business.
